(APB) Matthew 27 : 1 But when it was dawn, all the Chief Priests and the Elders of the people took counsel against Yeshua, how they would put him to death.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 2 And they bound him and they led him and delivered him to Pilate, the Governor.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 3 Then when Yehuda the traitor saw that Yeshua was condemned, he was moved with regret and went and brought those thirty pieces of silver to the Chief Priests and to the Elders.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 4 And he said, "I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood”, but they said to him, "What is that to us? You know us.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 5 And he cast the silver into The Temple and departed, and he went and hanged himself.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 6 But the Chief Priests took the silver, and they said, "It is not legal to put it into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 7 And they took counsel, and they bought with it the field of a potter as a graveyard for the burial of strangers.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 8 Therefore that field has been called, "The Field of Blood”, until this day.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the Prophet who said, "I took thirty silver coins, the price of The Precious One on which they of the children of Israel had agreed.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 10 And I gave them for the potter's field as THE LORD JEHOVAH commanded me.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 11 But Yeshua himself stood before the Governor and the Governor asked him and said to him, "You are The King of the Judeans?”, and Yeshua said to him, "You have said.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 12 And when the Chief Priests and the Elders accused him, he did not return any answer.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 13 Then Pilate said to him, "Have you not heard how much they testify against you?”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 14 And he gave him no response, not even a word, and at this he marveled greatly.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 15 Now, at every feast, the Governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the people, whomever they had chosen.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 16 But one of their prisoners was a notable prisoner called Barabba.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 17 And when they had been assembled, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you wish that I should release to you, Barabba, or Yeshua who is called The Messiah?”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 18 For Pilate knew that for jealousy they had delivered him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 19 But when the Governor sat on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him and she said, "Have nothing to do with that Righteous One, for I have suffered greatly in my dream today because of him.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 20 But the Chief Priests and the Elders had persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabba, but to destroy Yeshua.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 21 And the Governor answered and said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you of the two?” But they said, "Barabba.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 22 Pilate said to them, "And Yeshua, who is called The Messiah, what shall I do to him?” And all of them were saying, "Let him be crucified.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 23 The Governor said to them, "What evil has he done”, but increasingly, they cried out and they said, "Let him be crucified!.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 24 And when Pilate saw that nothing availed, but that there was an increasing clamor, he took water, washing his hands before the crowds and he said, "I am free from the blood of this righteous man. Know that.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 25 And all the people answered, and they said, "His blood be upon us and upon our children.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 26 Then he released Barabba to them and scourged Yeshua with whips and delivered him to be crucified.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 27 Then the soldiers of the Governor led Yeshua to the Praetorium, and they gathered the whole regiment around him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 28 And they stripped him and they clothed him with a scarlet robe.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 29 And they wound a garland of thorns and placed it on his head and a reed in his right hand and they bowed on their knees before him and were mocking him and saying, "Hail, King of the Judeans!”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 30 And they spat in his face and they took the reed and they were hitting him on his head.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 31 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and clothed him in his garments and led him to be crucified.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 32 And as they went out, they found a Cyrenian man whose name was Shimeon; they compelled him to carry his cross.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 33 And they came to the place that was called "Gagultha”, which is interpreted, "a Skull”.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 34 And they gave him vinegar to drink that was mixed with gall, and he tasted and he did not want to drink it.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 35 And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments by lots.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 36 And they were sitting and keeping watch for him there.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 37 And they placed over his head the cause of his death in writing: "This is Yeshua the King of the Judeans.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 38 And two robbers were crucified with him, one at his right hand and one at his left.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 39 But those who were passing by were reviling him and shaking their heads;
(APB) Matthew 27 : 40 And they were saying, "The One who destroys The Temple and builds it in three days, save yourself, if you are The Son of God, and come down from the cross.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 41 Thus also the Chief Priests were mocking with the Scribes and the Elders and the Pharisees.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 42 And they were saying, "He saved others, he cannot save himself; if he is The King of Israel, let him descend now from the cross and we will trust in him.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 43 "He trusted on God, let him save him now, if he delights in him, for he has said, 'I am The Son of God.' "
(APB) Matthew 27 : 44 Thus also those robbers who were crucified with him were taunting him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 45 But from the sixth hour there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 46 And toward the ninth hour Yeshua cried with a loud voice and he said, "Oh God, oh God! Why have you forsaken me?”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 47 Those people who were standing there, when they had heard, they were saying, "This one has called Elijah.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 48 At that moment one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar and placed it on a reed and gave a drink to him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 49 But the rest were saying, "Let him alone; we shall see if Elijah comes to save him.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 50 But Yeshua cried again with a loud voice, and his Spirit departed.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 51 And at once the curtain entrance of The Temple was ripped in two from top to bottom. The earth was shaken and the rocks were split.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 52 Tombs were opened, and many bodies of the Saints who were sleeping arose.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 53 And they came out, and after his resurrection, they entered the Holy City, and they appeared to many.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 54 And the Centurion and those who were guarding Yeshua, when they saw the quake and those things that happened, they were very afraid, and they said, "Truly, this was The Son of God.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 55 But there were also many women there who had seen from a distance, these who had come after Yeshua from Galilee and had ministered to him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 56 One of them was Maryam Magdalitha and Maryam the mother of Yaqob and of Yose and the mother of those sons of Zebedee.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 57 When it was evening, a rich man from Ramtha named Yoseph came, who also had been a disciple of Yeshua,
(APB) Matthew 27 : 58 This one came to Pilate and requested the body of Yeshua, and Pilate commanded that the body would be given to him.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 59 And Yoseph took the body and wound it in a sheet of pure linen.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 60 And he placed it in a new tomb belonging to him, which was cut in stone, and they rolled a great stone and set it against the doorway of the tomb and they departed.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 61 But Maryam Magdalitha and the other Maryam were there, sitting opposite the tomb.
(APB) Matthew 27 : 62 And the next day, which is after Friday sunset, the Chief Priests and the Pharisees were gathered together unto Pilate,
(APB) Matthew 27 : 63 And they were saying to him, "Our Lord, we recall that the deceiver said while he was alive, 'After three days, I will arise.' "
(APB) Matthew 27 : 64 "Command therefore to guard the tomb until the third day, lest his disciples should come and steal it in the night and say to the people that he is risen from the grave, and the last deception be worse than the first.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 65 Pilate said to them, "You have guards, go guard it just as you know how.”
(APB) Matthew 27 : 66 But they went to guard the tomb, and they together with the guards sealed the stone.
