Pošto su uzeli sebi brašnjenice za ljude i trube njihove, otpusti sve Izraele, svakoga k svojoj kući. Samo tri stotine ljudi zadrža. Tabor Midjanaca bio je pod njim u ravnici.

I narod uze brašnjenice i trube; i Gedeon otpusti sve ljude Izrailjce da idu svaki u svoj šator, a onijeh trista ljudi zadrža. A oko Madijanski bijaše niže njega u dolini.
