I kad faraon pusti narod da otide, ne odvede ih Bog putem prema zemlji filistejskoj, makar bi to bio put najbliži, jer pomisli Bog, da bi se mogao narod pokajati, kad bi se morao boriti, pa se opet vratiti a Egipat.

Kad je faraon dopustio da narod ode, Bog ih nije poveo prema filistejskoj zemlji, iako je onuda bilo najbliže. Bog je, naime, rekao: "Mogao bi se narod predomisliti i vratiti u Egipat kad vidi ratovanje."
