Jer kad nas ne htjede faraon pustiti da otidemo, pobi Gospod sve prvorođence u zemlji egipatskoj, od prvorođenca čovječjega do prvenca stoke. Zato žrtvujem Gospodu sve, što je prvorođeno, ako je muško, i otkupim svakoga prvorođenca sinova svojih.

Kako je faraon postao tvrdokoran pa nas nije htio pustiti, Jahve je poubijao sve prvorođence u zemlji egipatskoj: prvorođence ljudi i prvine stoke. Eto zato Jahvi žrtvujem svaku mušku prvinu materinjega krila, a svakoga prvorođenca od svojih sinova otkupljujem.

Zbog tog ja *žrtvujem GOSPODU svako muško koje otvara materinsku utrobu, ali vlastitog prvorođenog od mojih sinova, njega otkupljujem.
