וַיַּמְרוּ־בִי הַבָּנִים בְּחֻקֹּותַי לֹא־הָלָכוּ וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַי לֹא־שָׁמְרוּ לַעֲשֹׂות אֹותָם אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה אֹותָם הָאָדָם וָחַי בָּהֶם אֶת־שַׁבְּתֹותַי חִלֵּלוּ וָאֹמַר לִשְׁפֹּךְ חֲמָתִי עֲלֵיהֶם לְכַלֹּות אַפִּי בָּם בַּמִּדְבָּר׃

וימרו־בי הבנים בחקותי לא־הלכו ואת־משפטי לא־שמרו לעשות אותם אשר יעשה אותם האדם וחי בהם את־שבתותי חללו ואמר לשפך חמתי עליהם לכלות אפי בם במדבר׃

Ali su i sinovi bili nepokorni prema meni. Nijesu hodili po mojim zakonima i nijesu brižno držali zapovijedi mojih, koje tko vrši živ; kroz njih, i nijesu sveto držali subota mojih. Tada sam mislio da izlijem jarost svoju na njih i da izvršim gnjev svoj na njima u pustinji.

Ali se i sinovi odmetnuše od mene: po mojim uredbama nisu hodili i nisu čuvali ni vršili mojih zakona, koje svatko mora vršiti da bi živio, a subote su moje oskvrnjivali. I zato odlučih gnjev svoj izliti i iskaliti srdžbu svoju na njima u pustinji.
