וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה הִנְנִי מַמְטִיר לָכֶם לֶחֶם מִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם וְיָצָא הָעָם וְלָקְטוּ דְּבַר־יֹום בְּיֹומֹו לְמַעַן אֲנַסֶּנּוּ הֲיֵלֵךְ בְּתֹורָתִי אִם־לֹא׃

Tada reče Gospod Mojsiju: "Dobro, učinit ću, da vam daždi kruh s neba. Narod neka onda izlazi van i sebi skupi koliko mu treba na dan. Hoću da ga time stavim na kušnju, da li će se ravnati po zakonu mojem ili neće.

A Gospod reče Mojsiju: evo učiniću da vam daždi iz neba hljeb, a narod neka izlazi i kupi svaki dan koliko treba na dan, da ga okušam hoće li hoditi po mome zakonu ili neće.
