כִּי עָשֹׂה נַעֲשֶׂה אֶת־כָּל־הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־יָצָא מִפִּינוּ לְקַטֵּר לִמְלֶכֶת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהַסֵּיךְ־לָהּ נְסָכִים כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂינוּ אֲנַחְנוּ וַאֲבֹתֵינוּ מְלָכֵינוּ וְשָׂרֵינוּ בְּעָרֵי יְהוּדָה וּבְחֻצֹות יְרוּשָׁלִָם וַנִּשְׂבַּע־לֶחֶם וַנִּהְיֶה טֹובִים וְרָעָה לֹא רָאִינוּ׃

כי עשה נעשה את־כל־הדבר אשר־יצא מפינו לקטר למלכת השמים והסיך־לה נסכים כאשר עשינו אנחנו ואבתינו מלכינו ושרינו בערי יהודה ובחצות ירושלם ונשבע־לחם ונהיה טובים ורעה לא ראינו׃

Mi ćemo točno ispuniti svoje obećanje, što smo ga dali na svoja usta, naime da ćemo kaditi kraljici nebeskoj i lijevati joj naljeve, kao što smo činili mi i oci naši, kraljevi naši i knezovi naši u gradovima Judinim i po ulicama jerusalemskim. Tada smo imali kruha, da jedemo do sitosti. Bilo nam je dobro, i ne doživjesmo nikakvu nesreću.
