Nakon tih događanja, Josip iz Arimateje, koji bijaše jedan od Isusovih učenika, ali se skrivaše iz straha od *Židova, zaiska u Pilata dopuštenje skinuti tijelo Isusovo. Pilat mu odobri i Josip dođe skinuti tijelo.
