Tada Daniel, nazvan i Beltešazar, osta šuteći jedan pun čas. Misli su ga njegove uznemirivale. Ali ga kralj ohrabri: "Beltešazare, ne uznemiruj se tim snom i njegovim značenjem!" Beltešazar odgovori: "Gospodaru moj, san neka bude tvojim mrziteljima i značenje njegovo neprijateljima tvojim!
